Tips on Painting Cacti in the Arizona Desert (feat. Matt Smith and Barbara Mulleneaux)

OutdoorPainter.com interviewed Matt Smith and Barbara Mulleneaux on how they approach painting flora in their home state of Arizona. 

"It’s the lushest desert in the world,” [Smith] asserts. “But it’s very difficult to paint because the plant life is so formless. It’s all thin and wispy. The forms are hard to grab onto. One tree can morph into another, and then you have one big homogenous mass, and that won’t work in a painting."
